After an intensive application process and months of patiently waiting, our proposal has been accepted and we are officially Fund for Teachers fellows!
We began the research and application process in the Fall and submitted our proposal in January. We both knew today was decision day and after periodically checking our e-mails for news to no avail, we were surprised at a faculty meeting when the announcement was made.
Our superintendent, principal, and union president joined a representative from Fund for Teachers and Barbara Dalio to deliver the news to us. We were both so ecstatic and at a loss for words to be given this incredible opportunity.
After rushing to my tennis match and her track meet, the magnitude of this wonderful news has not fully sunk in yet. I am so humbled by this extraordinary gift and all of the support of my family, friends, and colleagues.
In a few short months we will depart for a trip of a lifetime. We will be visiting six cities in Greece and Italy over a span of fourteen days. We are committed to bringing back our experiences and new knowledge to share with our students. Is it too early to start packing? :)
